What a pet crematory listing shows
Each listing shows the name, place, licence record and services a pet crematory publishes, and a link to its own fee list when one is available. This guide explains every field.
Updated
Each listing on this site shows what a pet crematory or pet aftercare provider publishes, and where that information came from. The providers have not yet reviewed the facts. A cell stays empty when the source does not state the fact. This guide explains each field.
Licence record is most useful for Great Britain listings. The Animal and Plant Health Agency approves pet crematoria that handle animal by-products. When the register lists an approval, the listing shows the status and the approval number. Listings outside Great Britain carry no APHA record. Their licence field stays empty until someone can check a public register.
Services offered shows what the provider says it offers on its own website. Private cremation means your pet is the only animal in the chamber and the ashes come back to you. Communal cremation means several pets are cremated together and no ashes return. Equine cremation covers horses and other large animals. This field stays empty until a provider publishes what it offers.
Witnessed cremation shows whether you may attend the cremation, as the provider states. A provider may charge extra. When the provider does not say, the field stays empty.
Collection offered and Collection radius show whether the provider collects your pet from home or from your veterinary practice, as stated on its own site. The radius, when shown, is in miles.
Lowest published fee is the lowest figure on the provider's own price list, in the currency of the listing. The listing links to that list. For example, the Durham listing links to its provider's own price list. The field is empty when no list was found. Confirm every figure with the provider, because prices change. The lowest fee may be for a service that does not match what you need.
Link to the published price list points to the provider's own page or document. The provider controls that page. This site stores only the link, so the figures stay on the provider's site.
Association and certification shows membership the provider states, or the association lists. The options on this site are IAOPCC member and APPCC member. Membership is not a government licence.
Urns and memorial products shows that the provider sells urns, caskets or keepsakes, as stated on its own site. Check the provider page for current prices.
Opening hours come from OpenStreetMap or the provider's site, when they are given. Many listings show none.
Each listing names its source. APHA register rows carry an approval number and a link to the government page. OpenStreetMap rows carry a link to the OpenStreetMap page. Provider-website rows carry a link to the provider's own page and the date an editor checked it. Every listing uses one of those three sources.
